Sunny V, 19-153's Bio

Sunny is a beautiful, chestnut colored boxer mix. She has the sweetest disposition and is said to bond quickly with her people. She’s short in stature, but she’s pretty stout and definitely needs to work on her leash manners. Right now she thinks the leash means “pull as hard as you can in a different direction”! That’s understandable for a dog of her background, though. She and her sister were taken in by animal control because the former owners didn’t have the resources to fix their fence. The dogs were either running loose or chained outside. She will, however, be enrolled in the Paws in Prison program, and will be the absolute epitome of a good girl in no time! Actually, she’s already a very good girl. She is going to be exceptional!!!

Sunny is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Unfortunately, she is also heartworm positive. She will, however, be treated for this condition at no cost to her adopter. Her adoption fee is $250.

Sunny will be enrolled in the Paws in Prison program where she will receive obedience training. It is an eight week program, so she will be expected to graduate in early February. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents everything from her entering the facility, her daily training progress, and interactions with her trainers.
