| Looking for Love! Duchess, nicknamed "Molly," has one mission in life -- to find her one special person. All of the other things she loves -- long walks, chasing balls, going to the dog park, playing with her rope toy, dinner time, treats, playing with other dogs -- take a distant second place to being with her person and getting cuddles and pats. Duchess Molly would rather not share her special person with another dog and will be happiest as a single dog, although she'd be thrilled to share the household with kids. (They give good pats and hugs! And sometimes they drop food!) A stout, small, compact Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Duchess Molly is age 3 to 5 years. She can be quite puppy-like, but she is not a puppy -- Duchess Molly is completely housetrained, knows basic commands such as "sit" and "come" (when she wants), and walks well on a leash. Duchess Molly was found on Pinnacle Mountain in November, starving and covered in mange -- at that time, she had lost most of her coat and had a variety of medical conditions which landed her in intensive care for a month. But now, she has a beautiful coat, and her medical issues are well-controlled with generic medication. Duchess Molly is undergoing heartworm treatment by use of monthly Heartgard doses that should eliminate the heartworms in about 12 months. As you can see in her photos, Duchess Molly is a survivor: she has healed her body and her heart. She has earned a second chance. Now, Duchess Molly is ready to meet that special someone who can give her a forever home. [3-11-2010]
