  • Rescue in the Rock Rescue in the Rock provides information and resources for the rescue and care of shelter pets to Little Rock and surrounding-area residents.

  • Little Rock Animal Services Photos - Photos taken by a volunteer twice a week at the Little Rock Animal Shelter showing available dogs and cats.

  • Humane Society of Saline County - Located in Bauxite, AR (between Bryant & Benton). At HSSC, "Our hearts are with the animals".

  • Humane Society of the Ozarks - Located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Humane Society of the Ozarks is dedicated to ensuring the well being of animals. 

  • Humane Society of Pulaski County- The website of the Humane Society of Pulaski County. 

  • Fayetteville Animal Shelter - This website of the Fayetteville Animal Shelter is full of information to people thinking about adopting a pet.  There is also information about shelter disease prevention methods, the adoption process and other educational information.

  • Helping Hands for Little Paws - Helping Hands is a not-for-profit organization located in Central Arkansas dedicated to finding homes for animals from the Little Rock Animal Shelter.  Has pictures of available pets.

  • Maumelle Animal Shelter - Site maintained by Maumelle Friends of the Animals and the Maumelle Animal Shelter.  Has pictures of available dogs and cats.

  • Forrest City Area Humane Society - They are a diverse group of people who have the common goal of educating the community through working with others in the area to promote responsible pet ownership. They strive to care for unwanted animals and to place them in good, permanent homes.

  • Humane Society of Faulkner County - Official page of the Humane Society of Faulkner County.  Has pictures of available pets and other useful information.

  • Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animal Control - Photos of animals who are available for adoption. They provide spay/neuter vouchers for adopted pets, assist with emergency vet care, help with transport expenses for pets being adopted out of the area, and help with expenses at the Center whenever necessary.

  • Ozark Humane Society Shelter - Animal rescue shelter located in Harrison, Arkansas.  Has pictures of available pets and other valuable resources.

  • Border Collie Rescue of the Ozarks - Border collie rescue organization serving Northwest Arkansas.

  • Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation - Rescue group in Northwest Arkansas.  Site has pictures of available dogs and cats.

  • Cabot Animal Shelter Pictures - Pictures taken by volunteer of pets available at the Cabot Animal Shelter.

  • Arkansas Kennel Club - P. O. Box 241304, Little Rock, Arkansas  72223 - The AKC doesn't have a lot of information on their website, but you can write or email them for more information.

  • Conway Animal Welfare Unit - Located in Conway, Arkansas.  Has pictures of available pets and other information about shelter animals.

  • Unchain Your Dog - This site has a wealth of information about ways to free a dog from a chain and keep your pet in the neighborhood.

  • Dogs Only - An Arkansas rescue group site featuring only dogs.  Contains pictures of pets available for adoption and lots of useful information.

  • Unleashed Web Design - A pet friendly web site design company.

  • Cat Claws - An Arkansas company home of the famous Cat Claws Scratching pad and other products for your cat.

  • Team Furr - An Arkansas volunteer group focusing on cat and kitten rescue.  Has pictures of adoptable pets.

  • For Pets' Sake - Animal welfare group located in Springdale focusing on finding homes for homeless pets, microchipping all pets in NW Arkansas, aiding the elderly with pet expenses and raising public awareness for animal welfare.

  • Sherwood Humane Animal Services - See pets available for adoption in Sherwood.

  • The Feline Finders - A certified Pet Detective with scent specific K9's that track and find lost and missing cats. This is a for fee service based in Little Rock, AR. They offer a 10 minute free initial consultation.

Spay/Neuter Resources

  • Spay/USA - This organization is a network of volunteers and veterinarians working together to popularize and facilitate spay/neuter services through a nationwide toll-free referral service. Has interesting overpopulation statistics as well as a toll free number for low cost spay/neuter referrals.

Animal Welfare Organizations

  • The Doris Day Animal League - The Doris Day Animal League is a nonprofit, national, citizens lobbying organization formed to focus attention on issues involving the humane treatment of animals.  The site offers a wealth of information about current animal rights issues.

  • American Pet Association - The APA is an independent, national humane organization dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership through action, services and education.

  • www.offa.org - Good summaries about dysplasia and patellar luxation in your pets.  

  • Sally's Angels - A wonderful site containing information about service dogs and training. 

  • Pet Loss Support - This site is an excellent source of comfort and information for those who are grieving for the loss of a loved pet as well as friends of a person who has lost a pet. 

  • Pet Memorials - Post a free memorial to honor pets you have lost.

  • Kyle Laird's Animal Rescue Resources - This is a collection of animal rescue organizations, facilities and lists on the WWW.  It is constantly monitored and scrupulously maintained.  

  • Acme Pet. Com - Information about spay/neuter, adoption, training, health,  more.  This page offers a directory, by state and animal, to humane societies and animal rescues, photo galleries and a page for kids.  The site also has pages for specific breeds and bulletin boards where owners can trade information and questions on specific breeds.

  • Select Smart - This is a great site for selecting a dog or cat breed that is right for you!  You answer a series of questions about the traits you desire in your dog or cat and rank the importance of each criteria such as intelligence, barking, child-friendly, coat type, etc... The site then brings up a list of breeds that fit your criteria and allows you to see a picture and brief description of each breed.

  • Canis Major - A site with a wealth of information for dog owners.  Sponsored by the people who make Nature's Recipe dog food.

  • Pup Links - A dog owner education website.  Contains a wealth of information including questions to assist you in deciding whether to get a pet.
